Beginner's Boot Camp

An intensive introduction to Tango's Movements, Rhythms, Lead and Follow, and Adornments.

This seminar is designed to get you onto the dance floor and practicing as quickly as possible.

It serves as the beginning of the Fall season. Follow this up with a season of study in your local tango community.

Experienced dancers: send us the friends you have always wanted to introduce to this wonderful dance! Better yet, accompany them!

Int./Advanced Intangibles

The great Milongueros of Tango's revival taught us that feeling matters most. In these classes Daniel and Rebecca will teach the intangible skills that create the "dance" of tango behind the "steps". The focus will be on Musicality, Embrace, and Dialogue; refinement and subtlety; connection and support; collaboration and conversation.

Come with or without a partner; come with curiosity and passion; come with flexibility and empathy; come with openness for growth and change.

Rebecca Shulman & Daniel Trenner worked as a tango teaching partnership between 1991 and 1995 at the crest of tango's modern revival in Buenos Aires, and at the very beginning of tango's revival in North America. They were two of the most influential teachers in the US during the 1990s, and have continued to teach and create work up to the present. Daniel created the Bridge to the Tango Tours and the Tango Catalogue. Rebecca is a founding member of Tango Mujer. Together they founded the tango program at Dance Manhattan, where Rebecca continues to teach, and together they created a series of tango instructional videos recently rereleased on itangocafe.com. They each continue to travel frequently, and collaborate with some of the best dancers in the world. Don't miss this rare opportunity to study with them together, and experience their unique conversation about tango technique, methodology, and pedagogy!
